Success Story 7
Delay Turns Into Faster Processing
These cases highlight the impact of increased visa applications, particularly from Asia, on Canada’s immigration system. Due to the high workload, many applicants experience delays, and at times, immigration officers may overlook or forget documents, leading to further frustration. One such case involved a Hong Kong applicant for the Lifeline Program.
We have two examples of how delays were eventually resolved. First, Mr. Wu applied for a visa through HCDF, including an application for his wife. Within a few months, all required documents were submitted, including an updated form requested two months earlier. The immigration office confirmed receipt of the documents. However, last month, Mr. Wu received a refusal letter for his wife’s visa, stating that the documents had not been submitted on time, which left him frustrated.
In response, HCDF took a simple step: we resubmitted the confirmation letter from the immigration office and requested a review of the case. In just 45 days, the decision was reversed, and his wife’s visa was approved. With 36 years of experience, HCDF efficiently handles cases using streamlined, computerized systems, ensuring clients receive quick and effective solutions.
Another Recent Successful Case: Family Reunification
Another recent case involved a family reunification application for a permanent resident in Canada, with his wife and child still in China. After six months with no response, this case exceeded our acceptable timeline based on HCDF’s standards. We concluded that the case may have been overlooked or forgotten by the immigration office.
In response, we resubmitted the complete, unchanged application along with proof of submission, including receipts. Within 30 days, the immigration office expedited the process and approved the wife’s visa. While these cases are rare, HCDF’s 36 years of experience allow us to efficiently handle such challenges, turning negative outcomes into success while reducing wait times. Our priority is always our clients.

Rejected Request for Help
Frustrated father successfully reunites with his family in Canada after appeal.
In 2021, three years ago, one afternoon, an elderly gentleman came to our HCDF Immigration office with his son, who appeared to be in his 30s. This young client explained that he had applied for family reunification for his wife in China but was rejected by the immigration authorities. Despite having a daughter and his wife still living in mainland China, this rejection was a huge blow to him. He couldn’t understand the harshness of the Canadian immigration system, feeling that they were being cold-hearted, separating his family. When I met this young man, he was visibly distraught, unable to speak, and all the details of the case were shared by his father on his behalf.
HCDF Immigration immediately filed an appeal for the couple's family reunification and assisted them in presenting their case to the Vancouver Immigration Appeal Division. During the months of waiting for the hearing, we conducted multiple mock Q&A sessions through both face-to-face and online meetings, helping the couple understand the potential questions the appeal judge might ask, patiently listening to their responses, and offering the necessary legal advice. As long as our clients speak the truth, we have a 99% chance of winning the case. As expected, the family ultimately succeeded in their appeal and was able to reunite in Vancouver.
Continuing the Family Legacy: Successful Newborn Immigration
The story doesn’t end there. In 2023, the client’s wife returned to China and gave birth to their second child, a boy. Since both parents were permanent residents of Canada, the newborn needed to apply for immigration status. HCDF Immigration successfully processed the application for his permanent residency card in less than five months. Next month, the father will fly back to China to bring his wife and two children back to Vancouver.
Over the past 20 years, HCDF Immigration has handled countless family reunification cases, with nearly every case achieving success. What brings us the most joy is knowing that our team has helped so many families reunite happily in Vancouver. We sincerely wish for every family to live happily ever after and embrace a bright future.

Elderly Grandmother Denied Immigration Due to Cancer, Now Succeeds
Family Support
Mrs. Dong, over 80 years old and from Shanghai, has a large family of successful Canadian business immigrants. She has long resided in Vancouver on a tourist visa, enjoying a joyful life with her children and grandchildren. Her Canadian children repeatedly applied for her immigration under family reunification, but each application was denied due to her cancer diagnosis. Out of concern for her health, the family did not dare to inform Mrs. Dong about the rejections, fearing it would worsen her condition.
Hope & love Lead to Success
Our professional team at HCDF Immigration Inc. not only supported Mrs. Dong’s devoted family but also worked diligently on her reunification appeal. After submitting substantial evidence and arguments, Mrs. Dong ultimately obtained her Canadian Permanent Resident Card. For her family, it was a heartfelt expression of support; for HCDF Immigration Inc., it underscored our commitment to delivering expert assistance in navigating the complexities of immigration.
Congratulations to Mrs. Dong!

Arrives Alone, No Literacy—Secures Work Permit in 1 Week
First Steps in Canada
In the spring of 2024, as Vancouver's cherry blossoms were in full bloom, Mr. Yang, who spoke no English and had never attended university, stepped foot in Canada for the first time on a tourist visa. He arrived with two large bags and was detained at the Vancouver airport for three hours due to having no friends or family in Canada. After clearing customs, he found himself at a loss for where to go, spending the night on a chair in the airport’s food court. The next day, he took a taxi to Vancouver's Chinatown, dragging his luggage around and inquiring about immigration options and companies. A herbal medicine shop in Chinatown provided him with the address for HCDF Immigration Inc. in Richmond.
Waiting for the Permanent Resident Card
Eventually, he found his way to HCDF Immigration Inc., where our professional team helped him obtain a work permit within a week. As a Christian, Mr. Yang was also introduced to a local church community. He quickly found work in renovations and settled in. Although he is still awaiting the approval of his Permanent Resident Card, Mr. Yang is incredibly happy and content every day.

Family of Three with No Money, Skills, or English Secures Status
HCDF Assists Ms. Zhou and Her Family in Securing Permanent Residency
On October 1, 2024, congratulations are in order for Ms. Zhou and her family, who have successfully been approved for Canadian permanent residency. Ms. Zhou traveled to Canada three times between 2020 and 2023. In December 2023, she entrusted Eric Leung from HCDF Immigration Inc. to handle her immigration process.
By January 2024, she had obtained a work visa, along with full healthcare benefits. During the application process, Ms. Zhou’s husband remained in Hong Kong and did not enter Canada, yet they all received their Permanent Resident Cards simultaneously. Notably, Ms. Zhou did not have to take an English test, rely on any employer for sponsorship, or make any investments. This case is one of over a hundred successful families in the past two years.

Couple Overcomes Challenges, Wins with HCDF Support
Clients turn to HCDF for Help with Refused Cases
After their first application was rejected, we focused on helping clients achieve their goals, and we have many success stories to share. Today, we present the story of a couple’s reunification. Our client, nearly 60 years old, worked in gardening in Vancouver. Through a friend, he met a lady from China. After communicating via WeChat, they decided to marry. The client returned to China to arrange the wedding and promptly submitted his wife's immigration application. However, during the first interview, the wife was nervous and unable to answer the immigration officer's questions accurately, resulting in their application being denied.
HCDF’s Success in Reapplications
The client sought help from HCDF Immigration Inc., hoping we could appeal or take legal action. However, we opted for the better choice of reapplying, thoroughly preparing for the issues that arose during the first application. We fully supported the client, sincerely hoping for a successful outcome.
In the second application, we carefully identified areas that needed improvement and provided extensive preparation and mock practice for the client. After 5 to 6 sessions of 40-minute mock training, the client’s confidence in responding to inquiries significantly improved. Recently, they received a notification for an interview in Beijing. We conducted additional comprehensive training and reassured the wife that we would continue to support her even in the event of another denial.
Ultimately, the wife successfully passed the interview, realizing their dream of reunification. We sincerely congratulate this couple and are proud to have assisted them.
HCDF Immigration Inc. is dedicated to providing professional services to our clients.
